Source: Supplied Although the Australian Boomers are yet to medal at the FIBA World Cup, Australia's junior teams have had a rich history. Our Under-17 side has picked up two silver medals from four appearances at the FIBA Under-17 World Championships - the 2012 Danté Exum-led team and the 2014 Isaac Humphries-led team both fell short at the final hurdle against the USA.
Was a great tournament to watch. No mention of the final, intense minutes vs Argentina in the SF? Dwight with the clutch 3 to even the score with about 30 seconds left, and then we created a TO in the final 10 seconds as they drove to score. Brad McKinnon pushed it and found Trahair for the long three from the right wing over the D......watching from directly behind him (10 rows back) it was never missing! One of the most clutch shots in Australian basketball history! Dwight's shot was just a big as the pressure was higher being down.
The end of the game definitely deserved a mention.
