The 7'0 Lual-Acuil graduated from Baylor last season and was overlooked in the 2018 NBA Draft despite a standout senior year. The starting centre averaged an impressive 14 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game on his way to being named All-Big 12 Third Team. With an athletic build and versatile game, Lual-Acuil who is of Sudanese heritage has demonstrated an ability to protect the rim, finish off in the paint, and hit the three-ball in a promising two years with the Bears.
Hapoel Jerusalem finished third in the standings last season in the Winner League and will compete next season in FIBA's Champions League. He joins his new side for the 2018/19 season alongside former NBA star Amare Stoudemire who has also been added to a reloaded roster.
Lual-Acuil is part of a standout graduating class of Australians in NCAA Division I basketball who have signed to play next season in Europe, including Jock Landale (Saint Mary’s/Partizan), Xavier Cooks (Winthrop/Wurzburg) and Duop Reath (LSU/FMP Belgrade).
