Why Matisse Thybulle deserves more in Philly

Matisse Thybulle has been starved of opportunity this season in Philadelphia, but the numbers suggest he deserves more.

Last season, Matisse Thybulle played 66 games, started in 50, and averaged 25.5 minutes per outing.

Over a third of the way through the 2022/23 season, the Australian has started just five games, is averaging under 12 minutes per game and has not seen any consistent opportunity.

It’s a remarkable drop-off for a player who in the three seasons prior to this one has twice been named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.
