Uluc: Tyreke Evans exploring NBL option
Could we be seeing Tyreke Evans in an NBL jersey?
According to Fox Sports Australia's Olgun Uluc, the ten year NBA veteran is considering the prospect of playing in the NBL.
Uluc has made it clear that no further actions have been taken as yet, outside of exploratory calls.
Evans' talent and skill would be an intriguing addition to the National Basketball League, should he be in playing shape.
The 6'6 guard was the 2010/11 Rookie of the Year, and last played for the Indiana Pacers during the 2018/19 NBA season. He averaged 10.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists over 20.3 minutes, in 69 regular season games player.
Evans was dismissed and disqualified in May this year for violating the NBA/NBPA's anti-drug program. HoopsHype's Alex Kennedy reported that Evans tested positive for "drugs of abuse". This does not include steroid or performance-enhancing drugs (SPED).
According to ESPN, Evans would be eligible for reinstatement to the NBA in 2021. This can only be done with approval from both the league, and the players' association.
