Uluc: Josh Giddey receives offer from Arizona
The college offers for talented prospect Josh Giddey continue to surface, and this time it's from Arizona.
According to Fox Sports Australia's Olgun Uluc, Arizona Wildcats head coach, Sean Miller had contacted Giddey and reached out with an offer. The Melbourne point guard has previously received offers from other colleges like Iowa State, Baylor, and Utah.
āIām looking forward to just getting to see the schools and the facilities and what first best for me,ā Giddey said in an earlier interview with 247Sports.
During the recent FIBA U17 Oceania Championships, Giddey averaged 16.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists a game, leading the team to a gold with an excellent performance in the final against New Zealand. Shooting 9 of 11 from the field, he recorded 25 points with 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals.
Giddey also had an excellent performance when the Centre of Excellence (CoE) played against Creighton in their recent tour down under in early August, tallying 7 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal in 16 mins, along with a team-high +/- of +24.
The 6'7 guard was also part of the NBA Global Academy team that emerged as champions in the Atlanta NBA Academy Games. During the NBA Academy Games, Giddey shot 67.6% (25/37) from the field, and averaged 10 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists over 6 games.
