Turkish All-Star Broekhoff extends contract (Updated)
2015 Turkish All-Star Ryan Broekhoff has signed a lucrative 2-year contract extension with Besiktas Integral Forex Istanbul.
Enjoying a successful two years with Besiktas, his first as a professional after a stellar collegiate career with Valparaiso, Broekhoff has quickly become a fan favourite and the heart and soul of the team.
Following a very strong showing for Australia at the 2014 FIBA World Championships, former Valparaiso collegiate star Broekhoff carried his form over into the Eurocup and Turkish Basketball League seasons where he elevated his game to another level. He was selected to the 2015 Turkish All-Star game and has been a model of consistency, delivering 11.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. He has been shooting a remarkable 50% from beyond the three-point line and better than 54% from the field.
In the first stage of the 2014/15 Eurocup season, Broekhoff was able to contribute just as effectively. He was able to deliver 10.9 points at an even better 61.5% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc, with an additional 5.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
"I am very happy that my contract was extended. I love Besiktas and I'm glad to be here" - Ryan Broekhoff
