Tune into live NBL action with Cluch Radio
When you can’t get to a screen, you can still tune into live NBL coverage thanks to Cluch Radio.
Never before has the NBL been as accessible, whether it be on television or on mobile devices. But when you can’t get to a screen, you can still tune into live NBL coverage thanks to Cluch Radio.
In 2021, Cluch Radio has elevated their comprehensive radio coverage of this NBL season, with more live games and dedicated programs than broadcast ever before. The Pick and Roll is partnering with Cluch Radio to help grow the profile of the league but also the greater sport down under.
Cluch Radio’s NBL live commentaries are available to anyone with a connection via cluchradio.com plus on demand via your podcast provider of choice by searching ‘NBL Live’. In addition, their pregame show ‘Shootaround’ sets the scene for the big game, with news and interviews. Couple with a weekly flagship review program called ‘NBL Roundtable’, the coverage features key people in the game talking the biggest issues in the Australian basketball.
Gus Seebeck, Managing Director and Founder of Cluch, explained the importance of their digital radio coverage of the NBL.
"We’re thrilled to be working with the NBL and offering extensive radio coverage across the season via Cluch Radio,” explained Seebeck. “Our mission is to work with sports at all levels and to help clubs achieve ultimate success through exposure and insights previously limited to the very elite. Partnering with the NBL and its franchises provides the perfect platform to showcase our radio capabilities whilst cross-promoting Cluch TV and our wider business.”
The Cluch Radio commentary team includes some of the most respected basketball broadcasters in the country. Led by chief commentator Julian Daw, he is supported by one of basketball’s most respected voices in Matt McQuade, 400 game NBL veteran Ben Knight, the voice of Queensland hoops and NBL TV reporter Jon Guarna, WNBL Broadcaster, writer and coach Brayden Heselhurst, former Hawk stalwart Troy Pilon. Long-time sports commentator Richard Svenson, former WNBL centre Rachel Herrick, and basketball journalist Mark “Mookie” Schiralli round out the skilled and highly knowledgeable team.
“We’ve put together an exciting commentary team with a mix of voices and perspectives across the basketball landscape,” explained Daw, Head of Radio and Chief Commentator. “We’re all basketball people and that is reflective of what you’ll hear on NBL Live this season is the passion and love of the game of all our commentators.
“To be at the heart of providing a major radio product of NBL basketball is something we’re all very excited about. We’re dedicated to ensure basketball fans have more access than ever before to live NBL action every week throughout the season.”
A key part of Cluch Radio’s NBL live coverage in 2021 is the player of the year award which is being voted on a game by game basis via a 3-2-1 system. Named in honour of NBL legend Cal Bruton and supported by The Pick and Roll, the inaugural Cal Bruton Medal is currently led by Perth Wildcats superstar Bryce Cotton.
“We are proud to partner with Cluch Radio to support coverage of Australian basketball,” said The Pick and Roll’s Damian Arsenis. “It’s important to have options in how you can watch, listen or read about Australian basketball, and in the case of Cluch Radio’s coverage, it’s also proudly independent like us. So if you can’t get to a screen, make sure you tune into their call of the rest of the NBL games this season!”
