The Paris Olympics are almost upon us, and as the Opals look to return to the podium, here's three questions that could make or break the campaign.

The 2024 Paris Olympics get underway next week and for Australian basketball fans, the next two weeks promise to provide plenty of late nights and some early mornings.

For the Australian Opals, they head into the Olympics as the third-ranked nation in the world, behind only the USA and China, and with some real momentum after a third-placed finish at the most recent major tournament; the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup.

Obviously, a lot has changed over the past two years for every team, and Australia is no different. For the Opals, those changes – highlighted by development and improvement of key players – has the potential to see them return to the Olympic podium.

Having said that, nothing will be easy in Paris, and group games against Nigeria, Canada and France will all present unique challenges. With that in mind, there’s questions surrounding the Opals that could make or break their campaign.
