Thon Maker deemed eligible for 2016 NBA draft
It's a lock: we will have two Australians in the coming NBA draft this year.
According to Chad Ford of ESPN, the NBA has confirmed Thon Maker's eligibility for the draft. Maker had announced his decision to declare for the draft recently, and was awaiting league decision on whether he met the necessary conditions.
The young forward meets the minimum age requirement (19 years old). The NBA has also deemed his graduation from high school last year, as satisfying the other clause - that a player has to be a year removed from high school to qualify.
Maker has been projected as a mid to late first rounder, based off his raw potential, although this will likely change depending on his draft combine workout.
