Australian basketball legend Chris Anstey joins Ben on the show ahead of the FIBA 2023 World Cup to talk Boomers memories, and what lies ahead.

Welcome to The Podium Pod: The Race for Naismith, a new podcast series that aims to cover the Australian Boomers as they begin their quest for a medal once again, this time in the FIBA 2023 Basketball World Cup.

Host Adam Webster will be leading the show together with journalist Tom Hersz and for longtime followers of The Pick and Roll, familiar faces and seasoned voices in Ben Mallis and Jacob Doole. Tom, Jacob and Ben will be travelling and following the action at ground level, adding their perspectives as the games play out.

They run it back to his Boomers playing days, including the Sydney 2000 Olympics, the MOB (Medal Or Bust) belief, how it felt watching that historical moment in Tokyo, watching the next generation represent, an NBA what-if, followed by a look ahead at the incoming World Cup this year and how the Boomers’ style of play could look like.
