The NBL's greatest non-MVP seasons
Kendric Davis delivered an incredible NBL25 regular season, but didn't walk away with MVP. He joins a number of star players who have shone bright, but just not quite bright enough.
You won’t find too many people upset about Bryce Cotton’s fifth MVP award.
However, it does mean Kendric Davis’ remarkable campaign joins a rather unfortunate club; the greatest non-MVP seasons.

The 36er point guard finished second in scoring behind Cotton with 25.6 points per game and led the league in assists with eight per contest.
It was a remarkable regular season for a guy that was expected to play support role to ex-NBA star Montrezl Harrell. However, in the end Cotton’s stunning ability to consistently takeover and win games off his own shot was too much to go against.
Although it might be a tough proverbial pill to swallow for Davis, it has given us the chance to go back through the archives of some other players who had incredible years, but didn’t walk away with the top gong.
1985 / Mark Davis (Adelaide)
Mark Davis’ first year in the NBL was arguably his best and he walked away without the MVP and without an All-NBL Team nod.
