Australia's surge has been impressive. Going from times when Australia was represented solely by Luc Longley, to recent years when the Aussie presence is visibly increasing with every passing year - it's no understatement, when we say Australian basketball is truly entering its golden era, with no signs of slowing down.
That's not forgetting the multiple NBA champions we have had too. From Patty Mills and Aron Baynes with the San Antonio Spurs (2014), to Andrew Bogut's Golden State Warriors (2015), and Matthew Dellavedova's Cleveland Cavaliers (2016). For a while, the running punchline was that you needed an Australian on your team to win the NBA championship.
Meanwhile, Aron Baynes (Boston Celtics) and Ben Simmons (Philadelphia 76ers) will play significant roles in teams that are emerging the Eastern Conference's strongest contenders, in years to come.
From 1991 to 2018. From Luc Longley to Ben Simmons, here are some of the best Aussie NBA moments, here's some fantastic moments of our Australians in the NBA, put together by Brotherhood Studios.
