Youngstown State graduate Matt Donlan has signed his first professional contract with Spanish second division club CB Peñas Huesca.
The 6'7 sharpshooting forward enjoyed two quality seasons with Youngstown State after transferring from South Dakota State, with the Victorian set to use his first season in Spain to launch his professional career.
In his first year with the Penguins, Donlan demonstrated his scoring abilities by averaging 13.1 points and 4.5 rebounds while knocking down 2.6 three-pointers per game at a red-hot 46%. He would back up by contributing 9.3 points, 4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game as a senior, in turn being named All-Australian Third Team by The Pick and Roll last season.
Huesca finished the 2016-17 season in a lowly sixteenth position (out of 18 teams) and will be looking to climb up the Liga LEB Oro table. Through adding Donlan, who holds dual citizenship (Great Britain) and will be able to play as a local rather than as an import, they will be looking to climb up the standing and push for finals contention.
