Six players to watch from the Crocs' U16 Asian Championship triumph
The Australian Crocs came out on top in the 2023 FIBA U16 Asian Championship. Here are some names to keep an eye on.
Australia’s Under-16 men’s basketball team has made a habit of winning the biennial FIBA Under-16 Asian Championship. A hard-fought 79-76 victory over a resolute New Zealand outfit saw the Crocs claim a third straight title in the 2023 edition, and qualify for the 2023 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup.
In what was a show of depth, talent and impeccable roster management, six Aussie players averaged double-digit points. The coaching staff, with Basketball Victoria High Performance coach (Country) Nathan Cooper-Brown as head coach, along with coaches Ash Arnott (BA Centre of Excellence) and Luke Cann (Basketball Queensland High Performance Manager), deployed a well-rounded rotation where no player averaged over 21 minutes.
