Shooting like Lightning: Sam Simons is ready to to soar
After a huge season with Forestville in NBL1 Central, Sam Simons is ready to soar with the Adelaide Lightning in the WNBL.

There’s no doubt that the daughter of former NBL player and current Men’s coach Andy, and former WNBL player Sharon, is a shooter. One of two sisters, Sam Simons always keeps her shooting in sharp shape. When she’s not dropping buckets for her beloved Forestville Eagles in the NBL1 Central, she’s dropping goals for the Contax in the Netball SA Premier League.
Since the conclusion of her sporting seasons, Simons still remains extremely busy.
“It has been a really busy last couple of months so it has been nice to have a mini break to refresh ready for preseason to start with the [Adelaide] Lightning, my body definitely needed it,” Simons shared with The Pick and Roll.
The college experience
Simons has always had basketball surrounding her from a young age. The one club player was noticed around the age of 15 and selected for the Sapphires and Gems teams in 2016 -2017. It was apparent from those selections this was the start of her career in basketball.
