It’s been four years since the Nebraska Women’s basketball team earned qualification to the NCAA Tournament, but that drought could soon be about to end. For just the second time in program history the team has gone undefeated through their first 11 games of the season. The Cornhuskers are one of only seven teams remaining in Division 1 basketball to have yet to suffer a loss, joining the likes of #1 ranked South Carolina and last year’s NCAA Tournament runner’s up, Arizona.

Few could have predicted the Nebraska squad’s tear through non-conference play. While the team proved themselves to be a side on the rise last season, the loss of star centre Kate Cain meant that some early growing pains were to be expected as the starting 5 was revamped.

It didn’t take long for this notion to be squashed. Playing some of the smoothest offence in college ball, the Cornhuskers have hit the ground running. Leading the charge for Nebraska is the dominant Australian duo of Jaz Shelley and Issy Bourne.
