Coming oput of contract with Lokomotic Kuban after last season, Broekhoff had multiple offers from European teams on the table, most notably a 3-year offer from Turkish club anadolu Efes Istanbul, and a 2-year offer from Russian side Khimki Moscow. A regular with the Boomers, Broekhoff was a member of both the 2014 World Cup squad and also took part in the 2016 Rio Olympics
At 6'7", Broekhoff has the abiliity to play multiple positions on the wing. With a long wingspan, he brings a strong defensive reputation with him to the NBA. The signature element of Broekhoff's game though, is his shooting from deep.
He shot a blistering 50 percent (yes, really), from three during his last Eurocup campaign with Lokomotiv and has a career percentage of just over 44 percent. To put that in perspective, fellow Aussie Joe Ingles shot 44 percent during the 2017-18 NBA season, and has a NBA career percentage of 41.
