WNBL Round 8 Review

Bendigo now find themselves 1 game clear of the second placed team (Melbourne) after a 8-point victory over a quick finishing Adelaide Lightning team. Kelsey Griffin stared for the Spirit, en route to WNBL player of the week honors. Finishing with a game-high 29 points and 11 rebounds, Griffin was on fire for the league's best side. Supported by Sara Blicavs (14 points) and Kelly Wilson (11 points), the Spirit now have 9 wins from 10 games. Laura Hodges once again reasserted her stance in a possible All-Star five spot, with another big performance for the Lightning, but her 23 points and 8 rebounds weren't enough to get things done. Jess Foley played another admirable game, with 15 points and 2 assists.
