'Play hard regardless' : Luke Brennan on shaping Emus values
The new Emus coach is aiming not just to succeed at the U18 FIBA Asia Cup for men, but to teach his young charges the habits and values that make a career.

For Luke Brennan, the newly appointed head coach of the Emus, Australia’s U19 Men’s team, instilling a competitive fire into his group is his priority number one.
“Whether it’s at training, the first game, or the last minute in a gold-medal game, you have to compete at a level that wearing the Australia jersey warrants. That’s the first thing that we really want to do,” he says.
“Hopefully, the guys can go out and play really hard regardless of when or where.”
