Parsons Stars in Ballarat Beat-down
In just 24 minutes, Sarah Parsons led the way with a triple-double as the Kilsyth Lady Cobras dismantled the Ballarat Rush 94-51 to win their fourth consecutive game.
After falling to Dandenong in the opening round, Kilsyth have been clinical with an average winning margin of 25 points. They blew Ballarat out of the water with a 36-18 opening term and were relentless defensively, holding the home side to 28% shooting for the game.
Parsons collected 14 points on 6-9 from the field, 12 rebounds and 10 assists with just 2 turnovers. She was one of five Lady Cobras to score 12+ with Steph Cumming (26 points) and Chantella Perera (16 off the bench) also excelling.
In a 250+ game career, Parsons has remained extremely consistent and is averaging 14.3 points, 10 boards and 5.3 assists for 2015. If she can keep up those numbers, they will better her 2008 season in which she averaged 13, 10 and 5.
A heavy schedule to start the year has not bothered the Lady Cobras as they enjoy a two game lead on their closest rival in the South Conference. They will now head home for a clash against Geelong next Saturday before visiting second placed Bendigo in Round 5.
