The best of the best will take to State Basketball Centre and Dandenong Stadium in Victoria over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend for the National Junior Classic (NJC).

Under 12, 14, 16 and 18 teams from Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and the ACT will be competing for glory in what will no doubt be a great showcase for basketball and it’s future in this country.

After a two-year absence due to Covid restrictions, the return of the Classic was well overdue, with some of Australia’s best 128 club sides heading to Melbourne to battle it out.

“The return of the Kumon National Junior Classic - after we missed out on running it in 2020 and 2021 – is exciting for the Australian basketball community,” Basketball Victoria General Manager - Leagues and Competitions Greg Jeffers said. “It’s always a great thrill to have the best teams from across Victoria and Australia come together for this elite junior tournament – especially given what has happened in sport over the last few years.”

On the eve of the return of the tournament, we’ve taken a dive into each division to deliver previous champions, outline the top contenders, and a guide as to some of the key players to look out for, with livestreams with NewsCorp Australia, please visit the Herald Sun website.
