Motum's EuroLeague chances remain alive
Brock Motum's chances of playing in the EuroLeague playoffs with Zalgiris Kaunas remained intact thanks to a big win against Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos Athens, while Ryan Broekhoff's Lokomotiv Kuban prepare for the EuroCup semifinals.
Zalgiris overcame a slow start and a 14 point deficit to run over the top of Panathinaikos and record an important 64-58 win. With Zalgiris currently on the wrong side of the playoff bubble, it was a timely victory and keeps their chances alive.
In a low-scoring contest, Zalgiris' 30-point final term proved the difference as they shed the shackles to power away to the win and improve their record to 11-14. Brock Motum was again a key part of their success, adding 11 points and 4 rebounds in 25 minutes. With 5 rounds to play, Zalgiris is just 2 games outside the Top 8.

Ryan Broekhoff and Lokomotiv Kuban are set to take on Unicaja Malaga in their best of three EuroCup semifinals series commencing on 18 March Australian time.
As two of the best defensive outfits in the EuroCup this season, Malaga is now just 4 wins away from their first title in their first season, while Lokomotiv won the EuroCup in 2013. Broekhoff is sure to play a role defensively yet again, with his three-point shooting also expected to be a key weapon for his Russian side in what will be a tight and entertaining series.
