Mitch Creek, Deng Adel headline Day 3 for Aussies in Summer League

Multiple Aussies saw the Summer League floor today, including Mitch Creek, Xavier Cooks, Deng Adel, William McDowell-White and Isaac Humphries.

Mitch Creek started the game and had 8 points (1/4 FG, 0/1 3P), 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and a block. The Minnesota Timberwolves won the Atlanta Hawks, 90-66.

The Phoenix Suns played the New York Knicks and won 105-100 in overtime. Xavier Cooks played nearly 14 minutes, and had 1 rebound, 2 assists.

"It’s super cool," Cooks shared with The Pick and Roll's Ben Mallis post-game. "Seeing the NBA logo on your shirt is always cool. Playing in games against players like RJ Barrett. It was a really cool experience.

"I didn’t have the stat line I wanted to have, but I played hard. I will be more aggressive next game."

The Houston Rockets played the Portland Trail Blazers and lost 87-97. Deng Adel was a starter for Houston. He had 8 points (3/5 FG), 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in nearly 22 minutes.

"You just have a good feel for it," Adel, who's not new to the Summer League scene, said post-game to NBL Overtime. "You have a better approach, what to expect. You just try to go out there and play hard, and try to win, that's the biggest thing. You can't just come in here and worry about yourself - you just got to come out and try and get your team to win."

William McDowell-White played 10 minutes and had 2 points (1/2 FG), 1 rebound and 1 assist.

"It was exciting," McDowell-White told Ben Mallis. "It was my first game since mid November so when I first got out there I was a little shocked and didn’t really know what to think. I was thinking to myself, that I was finally back out on the court.

"It’s tough, having your first game back in so long being against guys like Gary Trent Jr. and a lot of NBA level guys who are going at it and working for jobs. It was tough but I’m glad I finally got it out of the way."

Isaac Humphries played nearly 9 minutes against the Memphis Grizzlies and had 8 points (3/10 FG, 1/4 3P), 5 rebounds. The Los Angeles Clippers lost, 75-87.

Duop Reath was a DNP against Croatia. The Brooklyn Nets won 74-58.
