Melbourne Boomers bolster squad with signing of Maddie Garrick
The Melbourne Boomers have rejuvenated their squad, releasing their second new signing for the 2015/16 WNBL campaign, Maddie Garrick.
Garrick, who has signed on a two year contract, was involved in Bendigo's championship era after returning to the club in 2012, saluting to win the 2012/13 and 13/14 WNBL titles.
In addition to championships, Garrick has also been awarded the SEABL Most Valuable Player award last year for her time with the Frankston Blues.
The recently turned 23 year old, took the WNBL by storm when having a breakout year with the Spirit which led to a contract with the AIS team.
Garrick will play a vital role for the Boomers, attempting to fill a large hole left by departing star, Rebecca Allen.
With Allen's (and Rachel Jarry) move to new franchise South East Queensland, the Boomers are continuing to build their depth by re-signing current talent, whilst also actively pacing the free agent market.
Melbourne have snagged a wonderful young star who looks set to blossom under head coach Guy Molloy and, with the addition of Alice Kunek, will form a formidable front court partnership.
