Jock Landale qualifies for Lithuanian three-point contest
Jock Landale has never shot the ball better, and is showcasing his improved three-point shooting with Zalgiris Kaunas to such an extent that he leads the Lithuanian national league in three-point shooting percentage and earning an automatic berth in the 2020 Betsafe LKL three-point shooting contest.
The 6'11 centre has continued his evolution as a stretch big man, shooting a scintillating 47.8% from beyond the arc in the LKL. He has nailed an impressive 11 of 23 three's in the first half the season.
As the leading marksman in the nation, Landale will take centre stage at the three-point shooting contest held prior to the Citadele King Mindaugas cup final on 16th of February.
After four years of anchoring the post for Saint Mary's in US College basketball, Jock Landale rarely had the opportunity to showcase his ability to shoot the three-ball. As arguably the best centre in college basketball during his senior year, Landale was overlooked in the 2018 NBA Draft, with question marks hanging over his athleticism, foot speed and ability to his the three-ball. Landale has eliminated the question mark over his ability to shoot from distance, and has also gone a long way to proving he can play and guard players at the four and five position on the perimeter.
Landale is enjoying a prosperous season with Zalgiris, averaging 8.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in the Lithuanian league. His figures are even better in the EuroLeague, with Landale posting 10.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1 assist per game while shooting 60.6% from the field.
