A couple of weeks ago, Makuach Maluach was an intriguing two-way bench piece for a Sydney Kings team that was shaping as a genuine contender in NBL26.

Now, with a long-term injury to the Kings’ defensive ace Bul Kuol, Maluach has been thrust into the limelight, starting games and taking on crucial defensive assignments against star wings.
