To say Amy Atwell’s basketball career has been a whirlwind over the past 18 months would be an understatement. In that time, she’s heard her name called on WNBA Draft night, made her debut in not only the WNBA, but also in the WNBL and with the Australia Opals.
Oh, and last weekend she won the NBL1 South Championship and was named Grand Final MVP, after dropping 36 points for the Bendigo Braves in a final for the ages against the Waverley Falcons.
She’s taken all of those experiences in her stride, and the 25-year-old sharpshooter is just getting started.
“It's been a crazy 18 months,” Atwell told The Pick and Roll. “It’s completely flipped my career on its head. I haven’t really had the chance to sit down and be like, ‘wow, that's what has happened’, because it's just been go, go, go!”
