Currently playing for Victory Rock Prep, Gak selected Florida who play in the Southeastern Conference after backing out of his original verbal commitment to Oklahoma State following the termination of head coach Travis Ford. Gak's recruitment had generated a lot of interest and offers, with the talented big-man narrowing his selection down to the Gators and Arizona State.
Gak has been impressing for Victory Rock, averaging 10.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots over the past year.
Florida finished in 8th place in the SEC in 2015-16 season with a 9-9 (21-15 overall) record. While the Gators missed the NCAA Tournament, they did take part in post-season action by participating in the NIT.
With Gak's addition to the roster, he ensures that the Gators will boast an imposing front line next season, with four players standing 6'9 or taller on the roster. Gak will need to continue improving on his all-round game to be able to crack the regular rotation next season.
