It’s finally here.

It now all comes down to the Southside Flyers and Perth Lynx for the 2024 WNBL championship. With the Grand Final series getting underway today in Melbourne, let’s take a look at the key factors that could go a long way to determining who comes out victorious.

1. A battle of contrasting styles

The Lynx are a run-and-gun, three-point shooting force. As we all saw in their semi-final sweep against the defending champions, when they have that going, the team becomes incredibly dangerous.

Perth shoots the most threes per game in the league and the contrast in styles with Southside – who attempt the least threes in the league by far – will be extremely fun to watch. The Lynx attempt 27.7 threes per game, while the Flyers put up just 18.7, and this is all about the way both teams want to play; with Perth looking to get out and run at every opportunity to find open shooters, while Southside focuses on feeding their inside players and letting them go to work.
