NBL1 basketball is underway around the country for 2023, and there is already plenty to takeaway from the action we've seen so far.

Finally, all five NBL1 conferences are underway.

The 2023 season has been a long time coming and already some teams have put their best foot forward. However, some others are already having to play catchup.

What have we learned from the early rounds across the country?


Northside are must-watch

Northside’s women have started the NBL1 North season on another level.

They are 3-0 through three games, have scored more points than any other team and have the best percentage in the competition.

What makes this start even more impressive is the fact that their big three of Tiana Mangakahia, Courtney Woods and Nadeen Payne have all missed at least one game. We know how important depth and roster flexibility is throughout an NBL1 season and the Wizards have already shown that can get it done with a variety of combinations on the floor.
