EuroView: Jock Landale's point-a-minute performance in Lithuania
Jock Landale has wasted little time in putting the disappointment of China behind him by helping Žalgiris Kaunas to an opening round win in Lithuania.
It was an ideal way for Žalgiris to open their title defense, winning all four quarters on their way to registering an impressive 94-63 over Šiauliai on the road.
Just six days from playing in the bronze medal game at the World Cup, Jock Landale played just 14 minutes and made them count. The rising star poured in 14 points on a red-hot 5 of 6 shooting, including a made three-pointer and all three of his free throws. He also added 2 rebounds and 2 assists, and was one of just two Žalgiris players to scored in double figures.
After impressing with Partizan in Serbia last season, Landale is primed for an even bigger year with his new side which also plays in the prestigious EuroLeague.

Making a less auspicious debut was that of former Brisbane Bullet Cameron Bairstow. While his side Rytas Vilnius delivered an encouraging 95-84 win against Pieno žvaigždės to win their season opener, the 2016 Rio Olympian came off the bench to play 19 minutes for 4 points and 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
As reported previously, Brock Motum may not have enjoyed team success in the Spanish ACB's Super Cup, he did manage to win the three-point shooting competition.

In Valencia’s narrow 65-71 loss to FC Barcelona in the semi final of the season opening tournament, Motum provided 10 points on 4 of 4 shooting with 2 rebounds in 22 minutes.
