EuroView: Bishop dominates in France
|Feb 25, 2017|
With only four of our Aussie women featuring in Europe over this week, Abby Bishop has come out the highlight with an impeccable performance for her French side, Tarbes.
Whilst Tarbes went down to Lattes Montpellier by 4 points at 54-50, it didn't stop Bishop from dominating on the court. The Australian forward was clearly a target for Montpellier as she was fouled on 12 times. Bishop finished up with a massive double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds.
Bishop will have a new Australian teammate on the court shortly, with Tarbes announcing Amy Lewis as their latest addition to their side. Lewis co-captained the now defunct South East Queensland Stars during the 2015/16 WNBL season, and averaged 7.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists during her time there.
Tess Madgen's AZS UMCS of Lublin got the win over Widzew at 84-52. Whilst Madgen was slightly rested in this comfortable win with 19 minutes, she still managed a solid 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Hatay edged out a 3 point win over Besiktas at 64-61. Nat Hurst was the standout, dominating for Hatay and top-scoring for her side with 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
Hurst also put in a strong 9 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists in Hatay's impressive Euroleague 69-51 win over Bourges.
Campus Promete took out a healthy win over CREF Hola at 93-73, with Nicole Romeo the standout of the match with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
