EuroView: Angus Brandt's offensive efficiency leads Pistoia to upset win in Italy
Angus Brandt delivered one of his best performances of the season as he helped guide fifteenth tanked Pistoia past fourth placed Vanoli Cremona in the Italian Serie A.
Despite being sidelined all week due to a sore back, Brandt came good when it mattered most as an efficient offensive force for Pistoia. The former Perth Wildcat mad 8 of 10 shots on his way to logging 20 points with 6 rebounds in a terrific performance. The 6'10 centre played a major role in ensuring his side collected their biggest scalp of the season, for just their fourth win of the year. They will like their chances against last placed Pesaro next week.

In the EuroLeague, Žalgiris dropped their seventh straight game, this time an 82-86 result against Valencia. The contest promised to provide a match up between Jock Landale and Brock Motum, with the latter making a return to his former home court for the first time. However Motum has fallen out of favour with the coaching staff at Valencia, and the big return never physically took place, with Motum not taking to the court at all.

Landale however would shoot 4 of 5 from the field on his way to collecting 12 points and 4 rebounds in what has proved to be a difficult EuroLeague season to date for Žalgiris. While Valencia won their first road win of the season, Motum is on the outer and is rumoured to be replaced on the roster sooner rather than later. With Motum left out of the game-day lineup in their return to the Spanish ACB, speculation has increased that Jarrod Jones, who has recently been linked with the club, may be his replacement.
In their return to the Lithuanian national league, Žalgiris were made to work harder than expected to defend their unbeaten run, squeezing out a narrow 86-80 victory against lowly Šiauliai. With the court time spread among the team, Landale played just under 11 minutes for 5 points and 2 assists. Despite the close shave, Žalgiris extended their winning streak to 15-0, now five games clear of second placed Rytas Vilnius.
Rytas were without Cameron Bairstow in their 99-83 EuroCup win against Tofas, and again when they accounted for Pieno žvaigždės 93-72 back in Lithuania. No detail has yet been made available as to the reason behind his absence.
Also a notable absentee for Valencia was Brock Motum, who did not take to the court in his return to Lithuania against his former club
Keanu Pinder contributed 9 points in 15 minutes for Legia Warszawa in their heart breaking 94-95 loss to Gliwice in the Polish league. Gliwice stole the lead with 10 seconds to play on a layup, and with two attempts in the dying seconds coming up short for Warszawa, managed to hold on for the 1 point win.
