EuroView: Andersen and ASVEL tie up the Finals
With a stirring 60-59 win over Strasbourg IG, David Andersen has helped ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne level the French Pro A League Finals after winning game four 90-69.
David Andersen was the leading scorer for ASVEL in game four with 14 points (5/12 FG), 7 rebounds and 2 steals in 25 minutes. He played exceptionally well as ASVEL started poorly, before building a two-point lead at the half. The second half was equally as tense and came down to the final few possessions. ASVEL showed great poise to take the final quarter and hold their lead despite the strong push from Strasbourg. ASVEL shut down the passing lanes of the visitors and played very good defense. The ASVEL defence halted the shot creation of Strasbourg and really outplayed Strasbourg in every facet. ASVEL lived at the charity stripe (18/23 FT), while Strasbourg rarely ventured to the free-throw line (6/9 FT). It was an incredible effort for ASVEL to fight off elimination in such a well-rounded performance.

Game three was very different as ASVEL got out off the blocks strong with a 24-14 quarter, building on the lead for each of the remaining quarters. David Andersen was a lot quieter in the dominant win, scoring 5 points (1/5 FG) with 2 rebounds and 2 assists. ASVEL were impeccable in almost every aspect, shooting 52% from beyond the arc, recording 20 assists, and committing just 6 turnovers. On the other side, Strasbourg shot just 42% from the field and committed double the amount of turnovers as ASVEL (12). This game set the tone for game four and really gave ASVEL confidence.
The champion will now be decided in the fifth and final game of the best of five championship series.
