EuroView: Abby Bishop goes bang with 40 points
Abby Bishop has continued to set the bar even higher in France, and this week was no different. Despite her team Tarbes suffering a 93-85 loss to Hainaut, Bishop’s game was the real highlight of the match. The talented center banked 40 points and 9 rebounds, alongside being heavily targeted and fouled on by the opposition 7 times.

After combating CCC Polkowice in the first two games on the Quarter Finals in Poland, AZS AJP of Gorzow dropped the ball and lost the remaining 3 games.
The third game saw Gorzow fall 82-69, with Steph Talbot providing some hope for her side with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Nicole Seekamp was also strong at the point with 3 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists. The fourth match saw a better effort from Gorzow, but still disappointment following a tough 63-52 loss. Talbot totaled 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, while Seekamp made 6 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
The deciding fifth match between Gorzow and Polkowice saw a 6 point win go Polkowice’s way. Despite a top-scoring, huge effort from Talbot with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals, and a second best effort of 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists from Seekamp - it wasn’t enough to get Gorzow over the line. The loss puts Gorzow out of the Championship race in Poland.
Dynamo Moscow played their final two matches of the quarterfinals in Russia, and despite losing their first match for the week - they backed themselves in and won the third game to claim the series over Chevakata. In the losing match, Moscow went down 83-57. Katie-Rae Ebzery put in a stellar effort for her side, making 17 points and 8 rebounds for the game. Alex Bunton provided 5 points and 2 rebounds for the match. Moscow’s winning contest to claim a semifinal berth saw them prevail over Chevakata 80-72. It was a solid effort from both Aussies too, with Ebzery adding 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals alongside Bunton, who made 6 points and 2 rebounds.
The win puts Moscow in good stead to take on the talented Dynamo Kursk in the semifinals.
Cayla George made her impact back on the court for Uniqa Sopron in a big way this week, scoring 15 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. She helped her side edge out a 69-54 point win over PEAC-Pecs.
Hatay banked a win in the Turkish league over Osmaniye 67-75 to edge closer to the end of their season. Natalie Hurst provided 5 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists for the match.
Campus Promete suffered a loss at home, as Gipuzkoa gave them a hiding with a 26 point victory. Nicole Romeo top-scored for her side with 12 points and 4 rebounds.
Good Angels Kosice took another step in their Slovakian league conquest, over coming Samorin in both 2 Semi Final games relatively comfortably without the efforts of Australian Rebecca Allen on the court.
