EuroView: Brock Motum's offensive outburst in EuroLeague

Brock Motum heads into Christmas in season-best form after back-to-back big performances in the EuroLeague, while Jock Landale has again delivered another double-double, this time in the Adriatic League.

Displaying his full offensive arsenal, Brock Motum once again demonstrated that he is one of the most versatile stretch-four's playing in Europe with another big outing in the EuroLeague. Despite his side's 84-102 road loss to third placed CSKA Moscow, Motum was at his efficient scoring best. The 6'10 forward delivered 16 points in 18 minutes off the bench that helped Anadolu Efes Istanbul keep in touch with their high-scoring rivals. Motum shot a blistering 5-6 from the field including 1-1 from beyond the arc and 3-3 from the free throw line with 3 rebounds and 1 steals in a very good individual performance. While his side dropped a big road game, they now have a 9-5 record and remain in fourth place in the standings ahead of their next clash with Barcelona on the 27th December.

Motum has scored 16 or more in his past two EuroLeague games, providing an offensive spark off the bench for Efes. He is now averaging 8.1 points in 12 minutes per game while shooting a red-hot 59.2% from the field and a scorching 53.8% from beyond the arc.

After qualifying for the next round of EuroCup last week, Partizan Belgrade returned to action in the Adriatic League against fellow EuroCup Top 16 side Cedevita Zagreb. Unfortunately for Partizan, a 12-25 second term would prove their undoing, with Cedevita managed to withstand a second half rally to register a 71-76 win. As he has done all season, Jock Landale owned the paint. The 6'11 former Saint Mary's standout logged his second straight double-double in the competition, finishing with 12 points (5-8 FG), 10 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. While Partizan remains in fifth place on the table, they have now fallen three games behind fourth and have their work cut out for them into the New Year. Landale has been good for 11.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game while shooting a sizzling 61.4% from the field and an eye-opening 42.1% from beyond the three-point arc.

Having started the French Pro B season with Rouen, first year pro Chima Moneke has moved across to Denain. In their most recent outing, the dynamic forward started and added 10 points on 5-7 shooting with 4 rebounds in an encouraging performance in which he helped his side to an 82-64 win against Nancy. It followed his 12 point and 7 rebound outing in a 69-79 loss to Poitiers, leaving Denain with a 4-7 record and in fourteenth place in the standings.

Daniel Dillon's Paris came away with a much-needed 82-71 victory over Blois in the same league. The veteran was quiet by his standards, held to 2 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists in 26 minutes. However his leadership helped his side record just their second win of the season, and within reach of lifting out of the relegation zone.

Having completed his short-term contract with RASTA Vechta in the German Bundesliga, Venky Jois is now a free agent and is expected to sign a new deal with a European soon with no shortage of offers. The 6'8 forward was played out of position at centre for the undersized Vechta, the Melburnian averaged 5.9 points and 4.9 rebounds in 15 minutes per game. His previous stint in Europe with Vrijednosnice Osijek in Croatia saw his average an impressive 17.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
