Emus triumph over Latvia once again
The Australian Emus managed to clinch the win over Latvia once more, this time in the 9-12 classification game with a 94-80 victory.
The Emus held a 20-point lead in the first quarter, thanks to solid offensive rebounding and good ball movement, that led to made baskets. Despite a couple of runs as the game progressed, Latvia was never quite able to turn the game around.
“We started very well at both ends, defending with disruption and moving the ball to find open men on offence,” said Emus head coach Darren Perry.
“Latvia kept working hard as they always do and reduced our margin a number of times but every time we were challenged we found answers.
“All the guys contributed well in this win. We now look forward to our last game of the tournament to finish the campaign with a win.”
