Embracing the challenge: Alex Sharp is reaching new heights in Canberra
Alex Sharp's move from one side of the country to the other is paying dividends with the Canberra Capitals.
Alex Sharp was settled in Perth with the Lynx, but her decision to move across the country and play for the Canberra Capitals was all about embracing the challenge of being in a new, uncomfortable situation to get the most out of herself on the basketball court.

That decision has already paid dividends with the 26-year-old currently putting together a career-best season in the WNBL, doing it all on both ends of court for one of the most watchable teams in the league.
Sharp spoke about how she felt the need to challenge herself and the realisation it was time to leave the Lynx after three seasons in red.
“There was a realisation that my basketball game needed something different,” she said. “Accepting that I'm going to have to go somewhere else to grow my game and to challenge it in a different way. That was definitely a hard thing to realise, especially when I have a home over there now and I was really comfortable.
“I knew that I needed to make myself uncomfortable to really challenge my game in a different way.”
