Preparations are well and truly underway for NBL1 2026, with plenty of big names already signing the dotted line
It seems like only yesterday we were crowning our national champions and the 2025 NBL1 season had wrapped up.
However, preparation for 2026 is already well and truly underway, and some big names have already signed the dotted line.
From reigning champions to brand new coaches, these are the NBL1 moves that have already caught our eye for next year.
Tom Koppens | Re-signed with Sandringham (SOUTH)
Re-signing the Grand Final MVP is a pretty handy move for the Sabres.
Koppens overall season numbers from 2025 might not have been overwhelming, but he was a flat out beast in the grand final and then in the National Finals in Canberra. He does all the little things, attacks with relentless aggression and is improving his range.
Don’t be surprised if Koppens is All-NBL1 South First Team in 2026 in a side that once again is a top four club.
