Donte Does it All in Bandits Win
Albury/Wodonga Bandits import, Donte Nicholas, has put up a ridiculous stat-line on Friday night to lead his side to an 81-72 victory against the Bendigo Braves.
The forward scored 29 points on 10-17 shooting, hitting both of his three pointers while shooting 7-11 from the free throw line.
On top of that, Nicholas collected 8 rebounds (5 offensive), 4 assists, 2 blocks and an incredible 8 steals.
He got his game going early with two dunks in the first quarter before exploding for 15 points in the second term, compared to Bendigo’s 16.
In a one minute period in that second term, Nicholas connected on a three-point play after being fouled on a jump shot, stole the ball from Chris Hogan and scored at the other end, stole the ball again (this time from Tony Lewis) and then tipped in his own miss.
His dismantling of the Braves side follows a 19 point, 9 rebound and 7 assist effort against Canberra in their season opener and has helped move Albury/Wodonga to a 2-0 record. Backing up less than 24 hours later against Nunawading on Saturday night will be a true test of just how dangerous Nicholas and the Bandits are.
