Dejan Vasiljevic scores 21 to led Emerging Boomers past Czech Republic
The Emerging Boomers have made their way into the quarter-finals, after taking an emphatic 88-59 victory against the Czech Republic in the 30th Summer Universiade (2019 World University Games), held in Naples, Italy this year from 3 to 14 July.
The team was led by Dejan Vasiljevic's scoring, who made 10 in the first quarter, and eventually ended with 21 points.
Despite Czech Republic taking the fourth quarter with strong rebounding efforts, the deficit from the earlier periods could not be overcome.
Multiple Australians impressed, including George Blagojevic (10 points), Jack White (8 points, 8 rebounds), Jonah Antonio (9 points), Kyle Zunic (8 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists) and Will Magnay (7 points, 7 rebounds).
