Now a three-time WNBL champion and one of the fiercest guards in Australia, Rocci is reaping the rewards of her hard work.
The path to claiming a WNBL championship is never a walk in the park.

Just ask Maddy Rocci.

The 25-year-old star guard had to battle it out head-to-head with a pair of MVP-calibre players in back-to-back finals series as she helped lift the Southside Flyers to the 2023/24 WNBL championship just over a week ago.
The task of attempting to slow down 2024 WNBL MVP Jordin Canada in the semi-final clash against Melbourne, and then Perth’s Aari McDonald in the grand final would be a daunting one to 99.9% of the population. But as anyone who has watched Rocci on the hardwood would know, she thrives on physicality and the competition of it all.
“I think I came up against probably two of the best imports that have played in the WNBL at the point guard position in Jordin Canada and Aari McDonald and it challenged me every single game,” Rocci said. “But it also excited me to come up against guards that are in the WNBA and to be able to lock them down at times and give my best defensive effort for the team.
