ASVEL started the game brilliantly, leading 15-22 at quarter-time. However, Strasbourg managed to slow down ASVEL until the third quarter when ASVEL broke free and put on a 14-27 run and opened up a 19-point lead. Though the game seemed over, Strasbourg had other ideas. Finishing with a 29-13 final quarter, Strasbourg certainly fought until the final moments and gave ASVEL a real scare and made sure the Pro A League season finished in dramatic fashion. In 15 minutes David Andersen scored 10 points (4/7 FG), and 4 rebounds. With the changes of momentum, no team really dominated any area in particular for any length of time. What really got ASVEL over the line, was their ability to get to the line. Like game four, ASVEL got to the line frequently and ensured Strasbourg didn't. ASVEL shot 75% on 29 attempts at the line, while Strasbourg converted just 10/15.

It was a fine season for Andersen, leading ASVEL in scoring during the FIBA Europe Cup (15.7 points) while also contributing 7.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists. What made Andersen's FIBA Europe Cup performance so brilliant was that he was so efficient shooting the ball, going 52.5% from the field and 41.9% from behind the arc.

Domestically, Andersen averaged 11.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 25 minutes. It was another productive season for the Boomers veteran and his focus will now be on producing for the Boomers in Rio.

Andersen's French title now sits alongside 3 Russian Championships, 3 Italian Championships and 1 Spanish Championship. He also has won 3 Euroleague titles, in 2001, 2006 and 2008.
