Danté Exum succumbs to injury, out indefinitely
I don't know how much Danté Exum knows about classic epic poems, but right now he's probably feeling like his namesake from Inferno, going through hell.
The Utah Jazz has announced that MRI testing revealed a partially torn patellar tendon in Exum's right knee, and that there's no timeline in place for his return for now. He'd just returned from an left ankle sprain (and an accompanying bone bruise), and now he's out again.

With Danté's NBA career, it's not so much a divine comedy as it is a tragedy - this latest injury adds to a laundry list of health issues. He lost the whole 2015-16 season to an ACL tear in his left knee, and a large chunk of the 2017-18 season to a separated shoulder.
Averaging 6.9 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 rebounds in 42 games this season, Exum can at least count his lucky stars that he signed an extension to his rookie deal last offseason. If he were entering free agency this summer, it would be slim pickings at best for the Aussie guard.
Depending on what treatment he chooses to go with, Exum might still be able to make it for the Boomers' FIBA Basketball World Cup campaign in August/September this year. That said, chances are the Jazz will insist on holding him out, and keep him wrapped up in multiple layers of cotton wool and bubble wrap.
In Inferno, Danté eventually makes it back to earth. Let's hope our Danté comes back from this safely as well.
