The 2025 NBA trade deadline has sparked a major shift in Josh Giddey's role with the Chicago Bulls, and his numbers have gone to a new level.
Josh Giddey entered the 2024-25 season in a precarious position, with a new team and a potential long-term contract to play for. To start the season, the Chicago Bulls featured several guards on their roster - including returning back court starters Zach LaVine and Coby White. With Ayo Dosunmu and a returning Lonzo Ball rounding out the Bulls’ guard rotation, Giddey faced a mountain to climb and minutes weren’t guaranteed. For much of the season, Giddey’s statistical output remained largely on par with his career averages, but everything changed at the NBA trade deadline.
