Chloe Bibby continues European dominance with MVP and EuroLeague berth in Spain

Chloe Bibby is making history winning yet another MVP, this time in Spain. She led Spar Uni Girona to top spot in the Liga Feminina Endesa standings for the first time in the club's history.

Chloe Bibby has spent the last two years being superlative in Europe, resulting in her being headhunted by yet another Silicon Valley startup; the Golden State Valkyries.

After completing a training camp with the Valkyries, she didn’t make the final roster, but made sure to snag a couple of highlights while she was there.

Bibby didn’t accidentally find herself in the Bay Area. She’s earned everything throughout her career and the WNBA stint was in large part due to her play in Poland and Spain.

In Poland, she led InvestInTheWest Enea Gorzów to second on the ladder during the 2023-24 season with a 16-4 record. During the regular season, she had a crucial role for her team and the league, taking away MVP honours while averaging 20.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and two stocks (steals + blocks).

Gorzów’s roster was primarily predicated on its local product and didn’t have much of note in terms of imports outside of Bibby.

The only team they trailed was KGHM BC Polkowice, who finished the season 17-3. Polkowice was stacked full of international talent, with Erica Wheeler, a WNBA All-Star and All-Star game MVP, and Brittney Sykes, a four-time WNBA All-Defensive team player. They also boasted Brianna Fraser and Dragana Stanković, with the latter looking like the heir apparent for the Serbian centre role now that Tina Krajišnik has retired.

Bibby delivered one of those three losses to Polkowice with one of her most impressive performances of the season. She poured in 32 points on white hot 8-14 shooting from beyond the arc, leading Gorzów to a 93-89 win. With one second remaining, Bibby hit two clutch free throws, turning a two point margin into an insurmountable four.
