Cameron Healy drops school record 41
Just over a month since Mason Peatling set a Big Sky Conference record of 54 points for Eastern Washington, University at Albany star guard Cameron Healy has delivered a single-game school scoring record of 41 points in a win against UMass Howell.
Improving to 4-1 in America East play with a commanding 101-75 victory, Healy led from the front in obliterating his previous career-high. With the Great Danes firmly in control, Healy tied his career-high of 31 points on a triple with over 7 minutes to play. He would go on to score 22 points in the second half before finishing with his new program record of 41 points.

The New South Welshman completed his career-night by hitting 13 of 23 from the field which included a scintillating 8 of 14 from long distance and a perfect 7 of 7 from the line. He also added 7 rebounds and 2 assists with just the 1 turnover in playing 33 minutes.
While Healy's 41 point haul did not eclipse Peatling’s 54 point Australian benchmark in US College, he joins some elite company in scoring 40 points or more at Division I level. Anatoly Kolesnikov (then known as Anatoly Bose) scored 46 for Nicholls in a double overtime loss to Northwestern back in January 2010. Kolesnikov who is now a Kazahkstan national, would also deliver a second 40 point game that season, backing up with a 40 point outing against Sam Houston State in March 2010.

The only other two Australian men to have scored 40 or more points at this level are Alex Loughton and Ben Simmons.
Loughton posted a 45 point and 15 rebound game for Old Dominion as a sophomore in 2003 in a double overtime loss to Charlotte. Playing his lone season with LSU, Simmons compiled 43 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals and 3 blocked shots in a dominant win against North Florida in December 2015.
Healy has been enjoying a stellar season with the Great Danes, with the 6'3 sophomore having scored in double figures in all bar two games this season, including his past 5 games. He boosted his season scoring average to 16.8 and is shooting the three-ball at a very good 43.6%.
While Healy got to within earshot of Peatling's Australian scoring record, the Eastern Washington star has continued to deliver for the Eagles in a 71-58 win against Montana State. Peatling delivered a 17 point and 11 rebound double-double, helping guide his school to a 4-2 record in Big Sky Conference play and second place in the conference behind Montana. It was the 6'8 senior forward's fourth double-double of the season, as the Eagles won their third game across their past 4.

Chier Maker's star is on the rise for Idaho State despite the Bengals having lost four of their last 5 games. After compiling an impressive 16 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks in a loss to a heart-breaking overtime loss to Weber State, Maker lifted his offense to another level in the very next game.
In a 76-82 loss to Portland State, the 6'8 Maker drained 4 of 8 three-pointers on his way to registering 22 points with 3 rebounds. 15 of those points came in the second half, and in scoring 22, it marked the third time he had scored 20 or more points this season, and fifth time he had drained 4 or more triples in the one outing. The Bengals have slumped to a 3-4 record in conference play and will need to start winning games behind their rising Aussie star if they want to compete for the Big Sky Conference contenders.

Junior guard Makuach Maluach has been a model of consistency for New Mexico this season, and may well have delivered his best performance of the season in the Lobos 86-59 win against San Jose State to snap a 2 game slide.
Missing four starters, New Mexico required the experienced Maluach to step up and he duly delivered as the only regular starter. The 6'7 junior guard compiled 15 points on just 4 of 7 shooting (2-3 3PT) while making 4 of 6 from the free throw line. He also capped an excellent night by pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds with 2 steals and 2 blocks in playing 32 minutes.

After dropping a 1 point thriller against Santa Clara, Saint Mary's bounced back to take down Pepperdine 78-69 behind a very good shooting performance from senior guard Tanner Krebs. The Tasmanian returned to form to by hitting 3 of 4 from downtown to finish with 17 points and 4 rebounds. Freshman Alex Ducas also continued to grab his opportunities, adding 10 points that included 2 of 4 three-point shooting to be one of four Gaels to score in double figures.

Saint Mary's are now in a logjam with four other teams tied for second place in a very close West Coast Conference led by Gonzaga with an unblemished 6-0 record.
One of the best performed Aussies in Division I basketball this season is Dejan Vasljevic, and despite the Hurricanes dropping five of their last 6 games, the one constant has been 'DJ's scoring output.
The 6'3 senior sharpshooter scored in double figures for the fifth straight game, adding 12 points and 3 rebounds in a tough 59-89 loss to number 8 ranked Duke who received 5 points from fellow senior Aussie Jack White. The effort followed Vasiljevic's stellar 19 point outing against number 9 ranked Florida State, a game in which Miami fell short 79-83 in overtime. Adding 5 straight points by Vasiljevic late in regulation saw the Hurricanes leading by 9 points, however the Seminoles finished on a furious run to force extra time before coming away with the win.

While Miami has its work cut out for them in a cutthroat ACC, their Aussie guard has emerged as one of the best shooters in the nation. Vasiljevic is averaging a career-high's of 14.6 points per game on 46.3% shooting from the field and 42.6% from three-point territory.
Arizona picked up an important victory against number 20 ranked Colorado, with the young and talented Wildcats spreading the scoring load. Josh Green was one of four players to score in double figures for Arizona, adding 13 points on 6 of 13 shooting with 1 rebound and 2 assists as the Wildcats freshman played one of their best games of the season.
The athletic Wildcats' defence was smothering, led by the outstanding Green. From the outset the Buffaloes had no answer, with Arizona extending their unbeaten Pac-12 home record to 3 this season. With two straight wins, Arizona now appear to be back on track.
