Built Differently: How Lilly Rotunno keeps hitting her goals

Basketball is about sacrifices and Lilly Rotunno knows that as well as anyone. She’s made some big sacrifices in chasing her dreams and it’s paying off as she inks her first full WNBL contract.

Determination comes in many forms. It manifests in different ways for different people. But it typically involves a pursuit of a goal or an objective, and not stopping until you achieve it.

In 2023, Lilly Rotunno had a goal of solidifying herself in the WNBL. She was a development player in the 2022-23 season with the Sydney Flames, but needed to find a new home the following season. Ahead of the 2023-24 season, she was close to finding a spot on her way to realising that goal. However, the opportunity she thought she had as a potential development player for the now defunct Melbourne Boomers, had a slight complication.
