The move was made to facilitate a roster spot for Greg Monroe, who was acquired from the Toronto Raptors. The Nets sent cash considerations in exchange for Monroe and the Raptors' 2021 second round draft pick.
Creek now returns to the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn's G League affiliate.
Creek originally signed a 10-day contract with Brooklyn on Jan. 25 before signing a second 10-day contract on Feb. 4. He appeared in four games for Brooklyn, recording averages of 3.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 8.9 minutes per contest.
The Australian native appeared in 27 games (22 starts) for Long Island this season, averaging 14.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 steals in 30.6 minutes per game, shooting 54.0 percent (149-of-276) from the field.
Prior to joining Long Island, Creek signed with Brooklyn on Aug. 20 and spent the 2018 preseason with the team prior to being waived on Oct. 12.
