Aussies you forgot were drafted in the NBA
From two players taken by the Lakers to the last Aussie Bull before Giddey, here are some players from down under that you may have forgotten were drafted in the NBA.
As another batch of young Aussie hopefuls begins their NBA Draft preparations, it’s worth remembering those who went before.
Now of course we don’t need reminding about the likes of Andrew Bogut, Luc Longley, Josh Giddey and Ben Simmons, but what about the two Aussies drafted to the Lakers or the last Aussie Bulls player before the SLOB wizard?
Well, here are some names that you might’ve forgotten, but we can assure you were heard on draft night.
Carl Rodwell
Pick 217 | Atlanta Hawks | 1969 Draft
His name doesn’t flash up in lights like a Bogut, Longley, Simmons, or Giddey, however, it may have never happened for any of them if it wasn’t for Carl Rodwell.
The two-time Olympian was the first Aussie to ever be drafted in the NBA, blazing a trail for all those that came after him.
